To be exact, we found this mellow-yellow BMW M1 replica on the German eBay (American’s aren’t the only folks around the world with crazy ideas…). While the original, mid-engined M1 was based on Lamborghini blueprints wearing a 3.5L straight six, this M1’s origin is somewhat less swanky as it’s based on a 1982 Matra Murena. The latter was a 3-seat sports car produced from 1980 through 1983 by the French engineering group Matra and developed in cooperation with the automaker Simca. It was offered with two four cylinder engines, a 1.6-liter and a 2.2-liter unit.-More images after the jump
