Ford Offers Power Upgrades for Fiesta ST: 165 & 185 HP

If there’s one thing that’s more disappointing than the Fiesta ST’s cabin, it’s definitely the lack of power from the naturally aspirated 150 HP 2.0-litre engine (especially when you think about the ST’s potent chassis). Ford UK is apparently aware of that so they decided to offer a series of performance upgrades that are available on new and used Fiesta ST models.

The Mountune Performance Stage 1 package will retail at £1,435 or $2,830 / €1,925 (plus fitting) and consists of a high-flow air induction system, a high performance exhaust system including high flow catalyst and tubular manifold, and re-calibration of Ford’s 2.0-litre Duratec ST engine to produce 165 HP. The more powerful Mountune Performance Stage 2 package will cost £1,838 $3,625 / €2,465 (plus fitting) and adds new camshafts and valve springs to the basic package to deliver 185 HP. -Continued after the jump

Both packages have been developed by Ford Team RS in a new association with Roush Technologies Ltd, which owns the Mountune Racing motorsport brand. Available at specialist Ford dealers, the packages come with a minimum of 12 months/12,000 miles dealer warranty up to a maximum of three years/36,000miles. The kits do not affect the vehicle warranty and will be available from the selected Ford Dealers beginning on March 1st 2008.
